Scott Amron is an electrical engineer, designer, conceptual artist, and founding principal of Amron Experimental. He designed a new variation of the coffee up. It has built in sleeves to handle cold and hot beverages. If you pour a hot beverage such as: tea, coffee, hot chocolate etc. the thin stackable cub will swell into what he calls a "cool insulating collar". It is a 100% genuine endothermic reaction. Any hot beverage will activate the band. It is pretty cool but VERY CREEPY. It has a knitted-on cloth towel feel and is non toxic and FDA approved. The whole design is recyclable and biodegradable. It also will not swell at shipping temperatures because that would not be good. Overall i do like the concept but i do think if the collar gets to big it gets this creepy look to it and grosses me out a little.
