Nichola Trudgen (Bronze winner in the Best Design Awards 2009 for product) designed what he calls the Wanderest. The Wanderest is an object that can be used for seating or resting if you need a break from walking. Trudgen designed the Wanderest with the elderly in mind. Trugen says that walking is the healthiest and easiest way to be mobile, but the elderly often need to take breaks while they walk because they become tired easily. Lamp post are the ideal resting stops because there are a lot of them on one block. The Wanderest could be used for flat surfaces, in bus waiting areas, hospitals, banks or just as a leaning station. The Wanderest is cost efficient and made of three identical panels injection-molded from a recycled Wood Plastic Composite. (an environmentally-friendly and easy-to-maintain material) The seat can be attached with either a bolt or two steel straps.
